L’idea

Questo styled shoot si inserisce in una ricerca sulle donne del passato che sono diventate icone di stile e che, attraverso la loro personalità volitiva che le ha fatte emergere in un mondo appannaggio dei soli uomini, sono diventate anche esempio di forza per le altre donne.

La nostra Cleopatra l’abbiamo immaginata ricca ma non ridondante, espressione di un amore nel segno del glamour e dell’eleganza, in uno stile che fosse una fusione fra design e storia. Ammaliatrice, mondana, una Donatella Versace del passato che arriva a Roma dall’Egitto e stravolge la moda corrente incantando tutti con il suo stile.

Luogo

La cornice è la splendida dimora storica Galleria del Cardinale. Nel cuore di Roma questa dimora patrizia romana dell’età barocca, è ora una delle più esclusive location per eventi che riesce nei suoi splendidi saloni ad ospitare oltre 500 persone.

Allestimento floreale

– Per il disegno floreale Ariannna Fabbretti di Pittafiori ha creato delle quinte scenografiche di fogliame che rimandassero alle palme del paesaggio egiziano. Tutti gli elementi – le foglie di Chamerops, di Phoenix, le Pampas grass, il Panicum, alcuni colorati oro – sono scelti per valorizzare i cromatismi del salone la cui architettura sontuosa ed imponente è esaltata dal montaggio morbido e spontaneo.

– Il bouquet è composto da un cuore di Dhiantus Browne© dalla particolare colorazione screziata, ed è incorniciato con le foglie di Phoenix dorate sulle punte.

– Immancabile la presenza del Papiro usato nell’antico Egitto come ventaglio cerimoniale.

– Il centrotavola per gli sposi rievoca l’interazione compositiva della vegetazione fluviale. La Fritillaria Persica con il suo portamento elegante disegna le linee morbide della composizione dove elementi essiccati come i papaveri dorati si integrano a quelli freschi.

Trucco e capelli

– L’interpretazione di Cleopatra fatta da Marianna Zambenedetti è di una donna elegante e luminosa. L’iconografia classica con il caschetto nero si modernizza in un biondissimo bob ad onde scomposte che incornicia il volto dandole carattere e luce. L’utilizzo di una parrucca è una citazione all’antico Egitto dove spesso i capelli naturali venivano rasati e sostituiti da quelli posticci acconciati in maniere molto elaborate.

– Per il makeup il focus è sullo sguardo: il marcato disegno nero si modernizza in un eye-liner  più sottile ed elegante che sottolinea lo sguardo insieme a un’intensa rima cigliare. L’unica nota di colore è data dal turchese nella rima interna inferiore dell’occhio che conferisce un taglio orizzontale e ipnotico allo sguardo. Il resto del makeup è un gioco di bagliori, luci, ombre e trasparenze che donano luminosità al volto.

– Nell’antico egitto il makeup non era una prerogativa esclusivamente femminile, per lo sposo l’uso del Kajal nell’interno dell’occhio, gli conferisce magnetismo nello sguardo.

Abiti

– L’abito da sposa NOOR della stilista norvegese Leila Hafzi è gentilmente fornito dall’esclusiva bridal boutique Le spose di Datì. Un modello scivolato di pregiatissimo chiffon che con il suo corpetto fasciato e la gonna dal drappeggio leggero richiama le linee morbide degli abiti dell’antico Egitto.

– Lo sposo in un elegante abito bianco di Antonella Rossi Roma indossa la camicia con il colletto sbottonato e aperto sulla giacca. Una lunga collana decorata a foglia oro Monies, completa questo outfit non convenzionale.

Gioielli

Nei riferimenti a Cleopatra gli splendidi gioielli del brand danese Monies hanno un ruolo fondamentale. Due sontuose collane sovrapposte in lamine e cubi di legno e foglia oro richiamano tutta la ricchezza dei monili dell’impero egiziano, così come i bracciali nelle due finiture nero e oro.  Gli orecchini e i voluminosi anelli in ACACIA WOOD, GOLD FOIL AND LEATHER per lei e EBONY AND LEATHER per lui, completano il look regale.

Tutti i gioielli Monies sono gentilmente forniti dallo store Monies di Roma situato in Via Margutta, da secoli riconosciuta come la strada delle Arti.

Mise en place

La mise en place e’ curata da Relais le Jardin che propone elementi dalle forme sobrie in un coordinato bianco e oro. Il tovagliato prezioso dal colore caldo perfettamente inserito nelle nuance della sala, esalta i dettagli delle linee delle posate dorate e dei bicchieri, calici con filo oro e tagli geometrici. Le foglie di Phoenix, che richiamano il bouquet, si adagiano sul piatto bianco e filo oro, per completare il decor minimale ma corposo.

Torta e dolci

La Cake designer Annika Toni ha proposto uno sweet table elegante, dalle linee semplici, la torta bianca è impreziosita da innesti geometrici oro, ispirati agli accessori. Seppur essenziale nella forma, la torta accoglie il vezzo di fiori bianchi in pasta di zucchero a ricordare la leggerezza del tessuto dell’abito. I tagli geometrici dei biscotti e dei cioccolatini con inserti in foglia oro esprimono nell’estetica il contrasto energico di sapori estremi del fondente.

Stationery

Per la stationery ragazze di Gill and Paper hanno progettato un coordinato cartaceo che gioca su geometrie e su un cromatismo minimale nei colori bianco nero e oro. Il loto, fiore simbolo di Cleopatra, vene stilizzato e inserito in una greca per lo stemma simbolo della coppia. Viene inoltre ripreso come pattern per creare una texture nell’interno della busta.

Il sigillo della busta è decorato con le foglie di alloro, simbolo della Roma antica.

Glamorous Cleopatra styled shoot

A  modern gold and white wedding

Concept

This styled shoot is part of a research on women of the past who have become icons of style and who, through their volitional personality that made them emerge in a world dominated by men only, have also become an example of strength for other women.

We imagined our Cleopatra rich but not redundant, an expression of love in the name of glamor and elegance, in a style that was a fusion of design and history. Charmer, worldly, a sort of Donatella Versace of the past who arrives in Rome from Egypt and twists current fashion by enchanting everyone with her style.

Location

The frame is the splendid historic residence of the Cardinal’s Gallery. In the heart of Rome this Roman patrician residence of the Baroque age is now one of the most exclusive event locations that manages in its splendid halls to host over 500 people.

Floral

– For the floral design Arianna Fabbretti of Pittafiori has created some scenic foliage scenes that recall the palms of the Egyptian landscape.

All the elements – the leaves of Chamerops, of Phoenix, the Pampas grass, the Panicum, some colored gold – are chosen to valorise the colors of the salon whose sumptuous and imposing architecture is enhanced by the soft and spontaneous assembly.

– The bouquet is composed of a heart of Dhiantus Browne © with a particular mottled color, and is framed with golden Phoenix leaves at its end.

– Essential the presence of Papyrus used in ancient Egypt as a ceremonial fan.

– The centerpiece for the spouses recalls the compositional interaction of the river vegetation. The Fritillaria Persica with its elegant bearing draws the soft lines of the composition where dried elements such as golden poppies complement the fresh ones.

Mua and Hair

– The interpretation of Cleopatra made by Marianna Zambenedetti is about an elegant and luminous woman. The classic iconography with the black bob is modernized in a very blonde, sprawling bob that frames the face giving it character and light. The use of a wig is a citation to ancient Egypt where natural hair was often shaved and replaced by those hairstyles arranged in very elaborate ways.

– Regarding makeup, the focus is on the eyes: the marked black design of Cleopatra is modernized in a thinner and more elegant eye-liner that emphasizes the look along with an intense rhyme of eyelashes. The only note of color is given by the turquoise in the lower inner rim of the eye which gives a horizontal and hypnotic cut to the eye. The rest of the makeup is a play of glows, lights, shadows and transparencies that give brightness to the face.

– In ancient Egypt makeup was not an exclusively feminine prerogative, for the groom the use of the Kajal inside the eye, gives it magnetism at the glance.

Dresses

– The NOOR wedding dress by the Norwegian designer Leila Hafzi is kindly provided by the exclusive bridal boutique Le spose di Datì. A slipped model of very precious chiffon that with its banded bodice and light drapery skirt recalls the soft lines of ancient Egyptian clothing.

– The groom in an elegant white suit by Antonella Rossi Roma wears the shirt with the collar unbuttoned and open on the jacket. A long necklace decorated with Monies gold leaf, completes this unconventional outfit.

Jewels

In the references to Cleopatra the splendid jewels of the Danish brand Monies have a fundamental role. Two sumptuous overlapping necklaces in wood and gold leaf laminates and cubes recall all the wealth of the Egyptian empire’s jewels, as well as the bracelets in the two black and gold finishes. The earrings and voluminous rings in acacia wood, gold foil and leather for her, and ebony and leather for him, complete the regal look.

All Monies jewels are kindly supplied by the Monies store in Rome located in Via Margutta, recognized for centuries as the road of the Arts.

Mise en place

The mise en place is curated by Relais le Jardin which proposes elements of sober shapes in a white and gold coordinate. The precious tablecloth with a warm color perfectly inserted in the nuances of the room, enhances the details of the lines of the golden cutlery and glasses, goblets with gold thread and geometric cuts. The Phoenix leaves, which recall the bouquet, recline on the white plate and gold thread, to complete the minimal but full-bodied decor.

Cake and sweet table

Cake designer Annika Toni proposed an elegant sweet table with simple lines, the white cake is embellished with gold geometric inserts, inspired by the accessories. Although essential in form, the cake welcomes the taste of white sugar paste flowers to remind the lightness of the fabric of the dress. The geometric cuts of biscuits and chocolates with inserts in gold leaf express an aesthetic contrast of extreme flavors of the fondant.

Stationery

For the stationery the girls of Gill and Paper have designed a paper coordinate that plays on geometry and on a minimal chromatism in the colors black white and gold. The lotus, symbol flower of Cleopatra, is stylized and inserted into a greek fret for the emblem of the couple. It is also used as a pattern to create a texture inside the envelope.

The seal of the envelope is decorated with bay leaves, a symbol of ancient Rome.
